WBGO's The Checkout Live hosted by Simon Rentner presents the launch of trumpeter Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah's iTunes application and recording Strech Music in concert at the Berklee College of Music's Café 939. This concert was captured on Friday, Sept. 25th.

His features Lawrence Fields (piano), Warren Wolf (vibraphone), Joe Dyson (drums), Braxton Cook (alto saxophone), Kris Funn (bass), Corey Fonville (drums), Elena Pinderhughes (flute, vocals), and Dominic Minix (guitar).

Pianist Vijay Iyer, voted “jazz artist of the year” by the 2015 Downbeat International Critics Poll,  shares music from his latest ECM recording Break Stuff, with bassist Stephan Crump and drummer Marcus Gilmore.

The pianist creates a composition inspired by minimalist Detroit techno producer DJ Robert Hood, and  Then he shares his thoughts about Billy Strayhorn’s emotionally-crushing last tune, "Blood Count."

Trumpeter Enrico Rava shares music from his latest ECM release Wild Dance.  Rava, one of Italy’s most important cultural exports, reflects on his unorthodox entry to the music, witnessing Miles Davis and Lester Young together during a 1956 European concert tour.
